Its crenelated turrets are particularly good to ramble around in Winter, when the snow & soft low light warms its grey stone bones and Santa Maria della Pietà appears to melt into the Corno Grande in the distance. On our last visit at the end of 2010, it was great to see that its windy track has been re-tarmaced and barriers had been installed.
