Cutting Down on Food Miles & Helping Sustainable Tourism
Bascianella is well served with daily delicious deliveries from local bakeries and fruit & vegetable growers, and weekly visits from cheese, prosciutto & salami producers, all which help to boast the local economy. Sometimes a supermarket is however necessary and fortunately they are just a 10-minute drive away. Read more about our favourite places & times to shop and where not to shop in Abruzzo.
Abruzzo Agriturismi, Restaurants & Trattoria
Abruzzo is famous for its lamb, use of herbs & spices and guitar string pasta – Maccheroni chitarra. Our local establishments make the Italian restaurants back home not just seem over complicated but horrifyingly expensive too. Expect the freshest ingredients that use the produce of the season deliciously delivered with a little hot chilli-kick, and a lot of love and pride.
Winetasting & Vineyards
If your Italian isn’t up to sharing a tipple with our neighbours & their homemade, mostly rather good wine, there are plenty of excellent nearby Vineyards that we do recommend a visit to, including one of our favourites Cerulli Irelli Spinozzi.
