For those of you that are brimming full of enthusiasm to help L’Aquila but who can’t quite afford the €1000 per ticket for the Ferrari Auction we are proud to announce ‘Art for L’Aquila’, an exhibition and auction that will be taking place in London & Paris in July.
This ‘Art for L’Aquila’ exhibition and auction is being organised by the Art project Minerva run by Pelino Santilli, Blandine Martin, Magdalena Rutkowska & hosted by the Italian Cultural Institute in London from the 29th June -5th July. Bloomsbury Auctions will be conducting a celebrity auction on Thursday 2nd July after a reception that begins at 18.30pm during which when Monika Milcarz and her Gold Table award winning team from THE KNAYPA will providing light snacks and Villa Almé wines will be served. A mirror event will be held in Venice.
This very special art exhibition features the very best of contemporary L’Aquila & Abruzzo artists as well as many pieces that have been kindly donated by internationally acclaimed artists which will be available at the auction. We will be running a series of special weekly features profiling some of the artists who are exhibiting between now the start of the exhibition and which you can bid for at the auction on 2nd July.
Get ready, they are all bright young things and if there was ever an opportunity to support young contemporary artists from an undiscovered part of Italy and help make it become famous again for something other than an earthquake this is the perfect opportunity.
All monies raised will be put towards the restoration of the destroyed 18th century church ‘Santa Maria del Suffragio’ whose fallen dome has come to be symbolise the cultural, socio & economic tragedy that befell so many after the earthquake in L’Aquila on 6th April.
