The fortress at Civitella del Tronto, Italy’s highest fort and worth a historical ramble back in time. It was the last Bourbon bastion which Vittorio Emanuele II of Savoy squeezed by a siege from Oct 1860 ending 20 March 1861, 3 days after the official unification of Italy.
